Calculation notes
Internet speeds are often specified in bits per second, while file sizes are usually specified in bytes. 1 byte equals 8 bits. Wi-Fi, server limits, protocol overhead and concurrent usage can increase real transfer time.
- Mbit/s is not the same as MB/s.
- 100 Mbit/s equals about 12.5 MB/s in ideal conditions.
- The overhead value is a safety margin, not an exact network diagnosis.
