Decimal or binary

KB, MB, GB and TB are commonly used as decimal units with factor 1000. KiB, MiB, GiB and TiB are binary units with factor 1024. Therefore 1 GB is not the same as 1 GiB.

1 GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes
